Team for a Cause
-Ski to Sea 2006-

CONGRATULATIONS ON
3rd PLACE OVERALL FINISH!!!!

The 2006 Ski to Sea is the first event for Team for a Cause, and the first of many diverse teams that will strive to do 'good' by participating in community, regional and national level active mulit-sport events.   Team For A Cause is looking for more than just a top spot on the overall podium.

2006 SKI TO SEA RACE REPORT:

The 2006 Ski to Sea was a great success for the inaugural TEAM FOR A CAUSE. We placed 3rd overall and put TEAM FOR A CAUSE on the map. We look forward to creating more successes, pushing harder and helping get the word out for things that matter to the racers.

Our cross country skier Mr. Bond, not being secured until just this past Wednesday, came in 8th and set us up for a great race, placing within about a minute of the leaders. Charlie took the handoff and passed 7 skiers on his way up the hill, and got passed by one (eventual winner Barons Heating). Charlie handed off the wristband in 2nd place about 20 seconds down from Barons. Damian ran hard and gave a little time on the hill and handed off to Brian, who took up working with triathlete Matt Leito to smoke the course. Together they pulled in about 4 minutes of Barons lead. Graham and Dave held thier ground and handed off to Mark in 3rd place. Mark drove it home and actually led the race for a bit just before the final handoff.

Going into Bellingham Bay, the 2006 Ski to Sea was a 3 man race. It was so exciting to NOT know who was going to win this race. By this stage in the race the winner is usually pretty secured. But the boats this year were all close! All within a minute of eachother, the top dogs of kayaking battled it out. Peter gave it all and rang the bell for an impressive and well deserved 3rd place.

There are no regrets on this team. We gave it all, put it on the line and made a challenge to all the teams out there to keep training...cuz we'll be back next year. Please check out updated team member information for personal race notes (probably will be a couple of days to get them all up).

Thanks for your support and please take a moment to check out each team members cause. Maybe it's something you can get involved with, possibly donate to...or use it for motivation to get involved with some cause of your own.
