Post Race Update
Standing at the line waiting for damian to come in i saw the minutes tick by as glen (barron's heating) had already taken off but was glad to hear that damian came in about 30 seconds ahead of another runner. at the line waiting for the hand off i talked with the other road biker (matt lieto) and agreed that we would work together. we put about 4-4.5 minutes into glen but glen was too much of an animal. the whole race was pretty smooth as matt and i took equal pulls both trying to bring glen back. after the leg was over i knew it would be close race because glen said their mountain biker was their weak link so i knew mark would be able to make up the difference. we came close and we had a good showing, but next year i predict TEAMFORACAUSE will come out on top.

Cause

I choose to race for Community to Community..... www.foodjustice.org

I have seen the hard work and time my roommate and close friend has put into helping C2C so I want to help him and C2C bring justice to the farm workers of Whatcom County as well as bring awareness to environmental injustice.

History

Originally from Spokane, WA I currently am in my last quarter at WWU, majoring in Biochemistry.   I started cycling 3 years ago when I became interested in triathlons and have since concentration solely on cycling in large part because of the WWU Cycling Team.   Along with the cycling team I have worked closely with Dr. William Pettis of the Institute of New Medicine out of Seattle and have seen immediate results with cycling.   Last year I went from a Cat 4 cyclist to a Cat 2 and placed 2 nd in the collegiate national's road race.   Later in the year I placed first in the Cascade Classic Cat 2-3 field criterium and during BC Superweek, my first pro-1-2 race, I placed 11 th in the Tour of Delta criterium.
